Play Group

Explora organizes play-group activities for parents and children: an informal way to make friends, play and have fun all together in a stimulating environment. The best occasion for children to meet friends of their age and for their parents to feel involved through the games and the activities, which will be conducted by the staff.
During the meetings fun will be accompanied by experimental activities - based on themes like science and art for children between 3 and 5 - and recreational activities for babies and toddlers from 1 to 3.
Not very renowned in Italy, play groups are very common in the UK, where they are attended by more than 50% of children. They are supported and promoted by the Pre-school Playgroups Association.

Play Group SCIENCE
A series of six meetings focused on science. They aim to stimulate children’s curiosity on science and to help them start approaching natural phenomena through interactive learning. Focus on:

  • Discover Mathematics
  • Discover Energy
  • Discover Nature Forces
  • Discover Water
  • Discover Air

Age: 3 to 5 years.
Duration: six 1 hour and 45 minute meetings.
When: Thursday from 3pm to 4:45pm.
 Start Dates: from November 10th 2011, from January 12th 2012, from February 16th 2012.
Participants: 5 minimum.
 Cost: €12 per meeting.
Play Group ART
The Play Group Art aims to help children approach art, learning about techniques and methods, stimulating creativity, craft skills and speaking capability. Focus on:

  • shapes and colours
  • graffiti
  • clay
  • carving
  • rips
  • assembling

Age: 3 to 5 years.
Duration: six 1 hour and 45 minute meetings.
When: Tuesday from 3pm to 4:45pm.
 Start Dates: from January 10th 2012, from February 14th 2012, from March 20th 2012.
Participants: 5 minimum.
 Cost: €12 per meeting.
Play Group: BABY
The preschool phase-in period can be very problematic for children. Explora organizes meetings for babies and toddlers (age 1 to 3) and their mothers. The activities aim to support the relationship between mother and child, to ease socialization between children and grown ups, and to feel good in a pleasant environment where everything can be shared. Focus on:

  • the senses and me
  • the environment and me
  • the food and me
  • the other and me
  • all together
Age: 1 to 3 years.
Duration: six 1 hour and 45 minute meetings.
When: Wednesday from 3pm to 4:45pm.
 Start Dates: from March 7th 2012, from April 11th 2012, from May 30th 2012, from June 27th 2012.
Participants: 5 minimum.
 Cost: €12 per meeting.
