Camps at Explora are always open during school holidays. Children are divided into 2 groups according to their age: elections, Christmas and Easter and summer holidays. Activities and how to attend them vary according to the children’s age:

  • Grown–up 6-11 years – Children attending primary school (not middle school).
  • Babies 3-6 years – Children not yet attending primary school (minimum number required)

Camps take place from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 04:30 pm, with daily and weekly tickets.

Summer 2017 has a special programme: a passionate journey into Myths and Legends to learn about the Universe and Science through tales of mythical adventures, travels beyond the boundaries of reality, great and valiant heroes, exciting challenges and fantastic creatures. Myths and Legends is the theme of a recurring schedule spanning over four weeks which includes science workshops, tinkering, coding, physics and biology experiments, art ateliers and cooking.

Explora Camps offer a new way to see the world, stimulating the children’s creativity and curiosity.

Let’s get together on July 24th at the Camp for “Possible if sustainable. Experimenting with bioplastic”, a workshop to experiment with possible uses of bioplastics made out of food and vegetable waste. Why don’t we like vegetable waste? Does it still have a value? Let’s understand how we can make bioplastic out of it and explore the sensory capabilities of this new material – totally organic and biodegradable – by learning its characteristics and possible uses. The workshop will be conducted by Sabrina Lucibello, associate professor in industrial design at the Sapienza University of Rome, Carlo Santulli, associate professor at the Design School in Camerino, Chiara Del Gesso, Alberto Morbillo, Lorena Trebbi, Marika Troiano. (The workshop is reserved for children from the Grown-up Camp, aged 8 to 11 years)

From July 10th to 12th take part in Camps: three days dedicated to the European project CHIC, Cultural Hybridation in Common, to get into the world of making, design and timbres, and discover, with a team of expert designers from France, Belgium, Latvia and Italy, how to give a cool touch to your creativity. The meeting, reserved for the “Grown Camps” , is the first of two date expected by the CHIC project.
