GARDENS DAY

The meeting dedicated to teachers, trainers, and educators to discover the potential of vegetable gardens.
Admission is free, booking is required.

 

The GARDENS DAY is a free event dedicated to vegetable gardens for inclusive early childhood education for early childhood and primary school teachers and school managers, for educators and museum professionals.

The GARDENS DAY is part of GARDENStoGROW Urban Horticulture for Innovative and Inclusive Early Childhood Education, a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, which is focused on creating educational vegetable gardens and training courses for early childhood teachers and school managers to set up and manage themselves a permanent vegetable garden in their schools. 

Admission is free, booking is required.

ACTIVITY:

A garden to wear. Colourful, extravagant and amazing: the seeds, the guardians of biodiversity, store the genes of future plants. A creative workshop to make a bracelet of seeds.

Let’s play the vegetable garden. A vegetable garden is not only about plants and fruits; it’s an ecosystem we can discover through play to learn how to recognise and distinguish useful insects from enemies of vegetables.

The nursery bed. How to create a safe environment for seed germination, with recycled materials to sow seeds in all seasons.

The shapes of nature. Introduction to Me and Nature, a themed activity dedicated to early childhood to understand the world around us.
